The North Dakota Department of Transportation hosted a public input meeting Tuesday, May 19, to discuss proposed improvements to the Gateway Drive (U.S. Highway 2) and North Columbia Road intersection in Grand Forks. The comment period is open now. 

In anticipation of the upcoming travel season, the North Dakota Department of Transportation kicked off the 2026 construction season with a news conference today in Bismarck to discuss upcoming projects and work zone safety. This year’s construction season consists of approximately $700 million in projects throughout North Dakota to enhance the state highway system. 

Traffic changes continue along the Memorial Highway reconstruction project in Mandan as work progresses in the area.

North Dakota Highway 50 is scheduled to temporarily close at 7 p.m. tonight east of Grenora near mile marker 8 for a power line installation.

Temporary closures are expected overnight on Interstate 94 Tyler Parkway, Exit 157, and State Street, Exit 159, westbound ramps in Bismarck starting Sunday, May 17.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation will host a public input meeting Wednesday, May 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. CDT to review the alternatives screening and elimination process, as well as the recommended alternatives for the Grant Marsh Bridge and Interstate-94/I-194 roadways in the midway area between Bismarck and Mandan.

Reede Construction will be conducting permanent pavement marking operations along U.S. Highway 2 beginning Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15.

North Dakota Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to complete asphalt and subgrade repairs at the North Dakota Highway 1804 and Washington Street roundabout Wednesday, May 13, in Bismarck.
