This page contains a listing of the most current NDDOT construction bid opening dates and projects, bidding requirements, online bidding information, plans, proposals and reports. The projects listed on this page are projects that are currently being developed, pending the availability of funding. These projects will be bid in the time frame shown, only if, adequate federal aid is received to fund this program.
Bids are received via the Bid Express (BidX) on-line bidding exchange at www.bidx.com. Bid results will be posted online in the Plans and Proposals page approximately 30 minutes after bids are opened.
In accordance with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Section 102, a bidder must be prequalified by the Department in order to be eligible to submit bids.
In addition, contractors need to meet the requirements of other agencies for conducting business in North Dakota. Information for conducting business in North Dakota can be obtained by visiting ND.Gov Business.
Bidder prequalification is required annually by the NDDOT. Prequalified contractors who wish to renew their prequalification must submit a complete "Contractor's Prequalification Statement" by July 1 of each calendar year.
CONTRACTOR’S PREQUALIFICATION STATEMENTS expire on June 30 each year. To renew, contractors must submit renewals online electronically.
A bidder is NOT required to obtain a North Dakota contractor's license prior to submitting a bid on a North Dakota Department of Transportation project. (N.D.C.C. Section 43-07-12)
However, prior to the execution of a contract, a bidder MUST have obtained the appropriate North Dakota contractor's license and secured workers’ compensation coverage from Workforce Safety & Insurance.
Projects are advertised in the NDDOT publication entitled “Notice to Bidders” and are issued approximately four (4) weeks prior to the bid opening date.
