714-9680 - Plug Pipe - The proposal lists a quantity of 2 EA for this bid item. I see that there is one located at 801+21 LT to 802+28 LT in section 57 but I can't seem to find the other location. Please advise.

DOT Response

The 714 9680 PLUG PIPE-ALL TYPES & SIZES total quantity should be 1 EA, not 2 EA. This correction will be part of an addendum.

Would the DOT consider changing the coating on the 15" Slotted Drain to Aluminized T2? Due to the amount of welding required and the small diameter, there will be significant damage to the coating on the inside of the pipe. T2 withstands this much better.

DOT Response

Either coating will be allowed. However, the coating process must take place after all assembly and welding in accordance with NDDOT Standard Drawing D-722-3A Note #2.

202-0136 - Removal of Pavement. While removing the temporary widening and bypasses, is it the Department's intention to have all of the Class 5 aggregate remain in place, or should that be removed as well?

DOT Response

The Aggregate Base Course Class 5 of the temporary roadway widenings and bypasses will remain in place in some areas as part of the final embankment and in other areas it will be part of the excavation to final grade. The Aggregate Base Course Class 5 of the temporary roadway widenings and bypasses is included in the earthwork calculations and quantities.

Is the earthwork summary table on sheet 1 of section 11 correct? It seems that some material is being double paid under common excavation - waste and common excavation - type A. For example, right of CL for NHU-5-094(160)903, it shows that there is 29,201 CY of common excavation - type A but only 8,449 CY of embankment and 20,752 CY of waste. Shouldn't this be a total of 29,201 CY of excavation with 8,449 CY of Type A and 20,752 CY of common excavation waste?

DOT Response

The Common Excavation – Type A quantities on Section 11 Sheet 1 are incorrect. An addendum will be issued for the correction.
