Submitted Questions for Job 22484 - HEN-7-052(034)000

Bid Item 93, State Furnished Median Barrier, has a quantity of 3,820 LF. On sheet 3 of the plans, it states to pick up (272) 2.5' x 10' and (11) 2' x 10' in the Casselton Yard. That total equals 2,830 LF. Please tell me where the remainder, 990 LF, of the barrier will be coming from.

DOT Response

This question appears to be in relation to PCN 23102 and the response below pertains to that project.

The quantity in section 8 is correct.  The (11) in the plan note should have been (110). Bid project as is. The amount of available state furnished barriers may need to be revisited. If a change is necessary, the district will work with the Contractor on a change order.

SP133(25) E-Ticketing Mandatory was added however no bid item for this has been added. Please clarify. I assume a bid item must be included for payment. Thanks

Section 20 Sheet 6 of the plans note 6 says to includes costs to stabilize the topsoil berm in the unit price for topsoil. I believe there is a new detail that changes the note to get paid for stabilization. Can this note be revised? Thanks

DOT Response

The new detail will be added to the addendum.

The 18" x 2' and FES at Sta 917+28 on Section 60, Sheet 16 is missing from the Allowable Pipe List. The 24" on Section 60, Sheet 13 are shown as a 26' and 30'.  On the Allowable Pipe List, they are listed as 16' and 20'.  What is the correct length?

DOT Response

An addendum will be prepared to address this.  The lengths should be 26' and 30'.

Can the Remove Aggregate Base & Surfacing material = 64,750 ton be reused as Salvaged Base Course in lieu of Aggregate Base Course, Cl 5 (187,403 ton) rather than waste all this material? It would be a considerable cost savings and only seems to make sense.

DOT Response

Yes, the removed material can be reused on the project.  When the amount of material removed is less than 50% of what is needed, we do not use the Salvaged Base Course pay item.
