Can you clarify widths and materials for the lines on Section 10 Sheet 1: Preformed Patterned Pvmt Mk 4IN Line - Grooved and Pvmt Mk Painted 12IN Line as there are not bid items for these.

DOT Response

Please disregard the line items in the basis of estimate sheet you refer to.  The 4IN Line - Grooved should be 6IN Line - Grooved as noted in section 8.  

The Painted 12IN line should be 6IN line as noted in Section 8 as well.  Thanks.

I would like to submit Polytite N for approval for the 3" expansion joint on this project. item 2, spec 550, code 1013.

DOT Response

NDDOT Bridge and Design Group have no concerns with the product submitted. This is an acceptable alternative for the pre-compressed foam joint we use with our 3” roadway expansion joints.  Project notes will be adjusted, adding this product, for future plan sets.

Regarding the 3" expansion joint material, what vertical dimension is required? It is available in 3"W x 3"H or 3"W x 4"H

DOT Response

The vertical dimension is not specified due to varying pavement depths.  In this application, either the 3" or 4" H would work fine.  It just has to be 3" wide.
