The purpose of this project is to develop and analyze potential interchange reconstruction alternatives for the Sunset Drive Interchange to address deteriorating pavement along the highway to meet future traffic needs.
Additionally, the project is evaluating options to provide accommodations for non-motorized users. The goal of the evaluation is to increase safety for users along Sunset Drive, whether motorized or non-motorized, and provide more connectivity through the community and across Interstate 94.
A separate study is being conducted by the BIS-MAN MPO that studies the Sunset Drive Corridor between Division Street and 38th Street (extension of Sunset Drive to the north). The study will focus on the areas immediately south and north of the interchange study with the northern section extending Sunset Drive to 38th Street in the future. This project has a separate public involvement effort underway. More information on the corridor study can be found here.
