A construction project is underway on US 2 between Grand Forks and Emerado. The project includes building median crossovers and ramp connections in order to allow traffic to safely travel head-to-head later this spring and throughout the summer while the eastbound roadway is reconstructed.
This initial phase of the project will impact both eastbound and westbound lanes of US 2, with two short lane closures in each direction. The lane closures will continue until the median crossovers and ramp connections are completed, around May 20.
During this phase of construction:
- Speed limit reduced to 60 mph; 40 mph when workers and equipment are present
- A width restriction of 20 ft. will be in place
- Flaggers will be present when trucks are exiting and entering work zone
- Lane closure in eastbound and westbound lanes
Motorists can expect little to no delay.
A new release will be issued with updated information when the next phase is set to begin.
