Construction
is underway on the US 83 West Bypass near Minot. Beginning Monday, May 7, the
southbound roadway on the West Bypass will be reduced to one lane from the
Souris River Bridge to US 2. Also the left and right turn traffic will share
one lane. Also beginning Tuesday May 8, the west
bound right lane and right turn lane of US 2 will be temporarily closed
for approximately two weeks but traffic will still have access to the US 83
West Bypass.
The
project consists of paving the southbound roadway and replacing the northbound
bridge over the Souris River.
During
construction:
Left and right turn traffic will share one lane for the next few weeks
West bound right lane and right turn-lane of US 2 will be temporarily closed
Speeds will be reduced
Flaggers will be present
A width restriction of 12 ft. will be in place during this phase of the project
The
entire project is expected to be completed this fall.
