As part of continued work on the ND Highway 20 Underpass project, ND Highway 19 will be closed from ND Highway 20 to 3rd Ave. NW in Devils Lake as of 6 AM September 5th. Motorists should use Hwy 20 as the detour route. This closure will remain in effect until late October.
Traffic and Pedestrian restrictions will consist of:
- ND Highway 19 will be closed from ND Highway 20 to 3rd Ave. NW while pipe and paving operations are conducted. Motorists should use Hwy 20 as the detour route.
- With the closure of Hwy 19 the stop signs at Hwy 20 will be removed to improve traffic flow.
- Pedestrian traffic will be limited to the south side of Hwy 19.
The Devils Lake Underpass Project has many phases that will require numerous changes to traffic and pedestrian flow patterns. Motorists should reduce speeds, follow signs and know that traffic control will frequently change throughout the duration of the project.
