Topic: Payment for Chips on Seal Coat Projects

Background Information: The NDDOT is evaluating cost saving measures on various project types. Excess cover coat material(chips) on seal coat projects was looked at and it was found that the excess chips are being swept into the ditch.
Suggested Solution: Past practices had designers pay for the chips by the "ton". According to current Specification (Section 420) it states that chips can be paid for by the "ton" or by the "square yard". The NDDOT may design future projects that pay for chips by the "square yard".

Action Taken: The AGC will provide feedback on the concept at the November 10th meeting.
