BISMARCK, N.D. – On Monday morning, May 22, eastbound traffic on I-94 through Bismarck will be shifted to the passing (left) lane, as preparations continue for traffic to go head-to-head later this month. Traffic will be shifted to the passing lane starting east of the 4th Street bridge and will continue to just east of Exit 161 (Bismarck Expressway).
Construction work on I-94 is currently taking place. I-94 will continue to be open to east and westbound traffic throughout the construction project, utilizing a combination of lane closures and head-to-head traffic. Twelve-foot width restrictions remain in place and the speed limit is reduced to 45 mph. Speeds may be reduced even further at times throughout the construction zone. Construction work is expected to be completed in late fall.
Regular updates on construction progress will be provided to the public throughout the construction project.
