The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) offers a new tool for residents to renew their motor vehicle tabs. The Kiosks or Self Service Terminals (SST) are now operating in several locations across the state.
The terminals are a fully automated motor vehicle registration renewal station that will dispense license plate renewal registration cards and motor vehicle tabs on the spot. A vehicle owner can navigate through the easy touch screen (voice assistance available) and will need an invoice number from your mailed invoice OR title number and plate number. Once the payment has been submitted and the transaction is complete, the vehicle’s renewed registration card and tab are dispensed directly from the machine. The terminals will be available during regular business hours at the participating locations.
The SST allows vehicle owners to register their vehicle(s) up to 60 days prior to their expiration. Acceptable forms of payment are restricted to credit cards (American Express, Master Card, VISA, Discover, and pin-less Debit cards).
If you renewed at a Kiosk but did not receive your registration card, please contact Intellectual Technology Inc. (ITI) at 833-939-1576
NOTE: There will be 2 different fees associated with using a kiosk. There is a $3 kiosk service fee along with a credit card service fee. All locations will charge both fees but for the Bismarck Central Office location only a credit card service fee is charged.
Customers needing to register a new vehicle should visit a Motor Vehicle Branch Office (see locations and hours below).
Residents can renew motor vehicles online or at Motor Vehicle branch office sites located throughout the state or by mail.
