How to Apply

Applications

To apply for a Transportation Enhancement Project use the Transportation Enhancement Application Instructions. Please contact Local Government by one of the methods listed below.

The information requested on the application will be used for two purposes. Initially the application will be used to determine eligibility. If the project is eligible, the application will then be used in the project selection process and awarding of funds.

Project Submissions

Project applications must be submitted to NDDOT's Local Government Division through one of the following governmental agencies, which will become the project's sponsor.

Rural
(cities under 5,000 population)
Board of County Commissioners
Urban
(cities over 5,000 population)
City Government
Indian Reservations Bureau of Indian Affairs or Board of County Commissioners

MPO Coordination

Projects in or near Grand Forks, Fargo or Bismarck/ Mandan must be coordinated with the local Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). If you are unsure if your project is within the MPO jurisdiction, contact the MPO office in your area.

Projects in MPO jurisdictions must be submitted to the MPO’s by the following dates.

Fargo Moorhead Council of Governments 4:00 p.m. October 9, 2008
Grand Forks/East Grand Forks 12:00 p.m. November 5, 2008
Bismarck Mandan MPO 12:00 p.m. November 6, 2008


Submission and Selection Dates

Normally, Transportation Enhancement project selections will be made annually in January and February. The application submittal period begins about Labor Day and ends prior to Thanksgiving. The deadline for the next round of applications will be posted on this web site by Labor Day.
