Most driver’s licenses can be renewed up to 10 months in advance at any Driver’s License Site in the state. Commericial (CDL) applicants must renew at Automated Sites only. Early renewal does not affect the expiration date of the new license. Commercial licenses are valid for 4 years from the holder’s date of birth. Noncommercial licenses are valid for 4 or 6 years from the holder’s date of birth.
